Gay Marriage in New Mexico

Gay marriage is legal in New Mexico as it is in all 50 United States of America. So if you live in New Mexico you can get married right here at home. And if you don’t live in New Mexico you should consider coming to New Mexico to tie the knot with your life partner.

Taos Gay Weddings

I’m a wedding minister in northern New Mexico and we have a delightfully open-minded blend of cultures. In Taos our county clerk’s staff used to hug and congratulate lesbian and gay couples getting their marriage license. I’m not sure they still do – that was back when New Mexico legalized gay marriage before many other states. Now it is completely commonplace and doesn’t raise an eyebrow. If you’re planning your wedding here you can expect to be treated like the next person in line – or perhaps a bit nicer! Taoseños have open hearts and want everyone to know that they are completely welcome. So go ahead and order your wedding cake here and know that the baker will be pleased to provide you with the cake of your dreams.

The vendors I work with – photographers, venues, florists, etc. – all love working with lesbian and gay couples. If you’re uncertain of what conventions you might like to follow (or not), know that we’ll answer your questions, share our experiences and thus help you decide what is going to work best for you.

As a gay man I especially enjoy officiating for my fellow gay and lesbian friends. I’ll help you choose a unique wedding location for your Taos destination wedding and share my experience in any other realm where you need guidance. If you’re eloping we can make things really easy for you. And if you’re starting to plan for a destination wedding that’s great too.
