The Destination Micro Weddings Trend for 2022

A destination micro wedding at the Gorge

Wedding trends have been and continue to shift, with a new trend emerging for destination micro weddings. Sure, Covid-19 has had a major impact on decision-making, but so have the budgets and logistics of planning A Big Wedding. Traditional wedding ceremonies can still be accomplished in a scaled-down version of a wedding. It’s the dawning of the age of the Micro Wedding! A micro wedding doesn’t have to fit in a precise mold or definition. You get to decide what is right for you. Do you want 8 guests, 18 or maybe 28? Even at that last number, the planning is a lot simpler than for 108 guests. So is the budget.

Benefits of a destination micro wedding

The benefits of the micro wedding are many and for the most part here in Taos they are destination micro weddings. Starting with setting the date, you only have to confirm with a few people how that date will work. And thus you can have pretty certain confirmation of your wedding guest list well in advance. Additional micro wedding planning can be easier than a traditional wedding because you get to minimize any aspect of the wedding you choose.

If you’re ready to work with a Taos wedding minister to plan your destination micro wedding, check my calendar now. Submit your names and desired date on my Contact Page for a fast confirmation of my availability.

Another great aide in planning can be to utilize a wedding planner. A good planner will work with you to learn everything that is important, from who will be there, what role they might play and how you want the chairs set up, who gets what flowers, etc. A truly great wedding planner is worth their weight in gold and one such destination micro weddings planner in the Taos area is Karen Kelly of KWK Events based out of Red River. I work with her frequently and she is outstanding and gets nothing but rave reviews from couples.

Micro wedding packages can include the venue

In order to facilitate your long-distance planning if your ceremony is to be a destination micro wedding, I’m now offering a couple of packages designed to cover a lot of the basics and some nice aesthetic touches for a memorable day. My micro wedding packages use the SpiriTaos Gardens. The gardens are an affordable micro wedding venue, loaded with views, flowers and features to make your day memorable. Check out the packages on my Intimate Wedding Packages page. And if you’d like to see pictures of the SpiriTaos Gardens venue, check out my Micro Wedding Venue page.
