What Is a Micro Wedding, and Is It Right for You?

First, what is a micro wedding? A micro wedding is simply a scaled-down version of a full-scale ceremony. You can dial it down to the size that works for you. The goal is to keep it more simple – less guests, less expense, fewer details and a shorter checklist.

Is A Micro Wedding Right For You Or Should You “Just Elope?”

What about just eloping? A micro wedding vs an elopement can be a fine line, it is really up to you. How do you want to define your special day? As a Taos wedding officiant I find most couples that say they are eloping are either traveling alone and making Taos their destination wedding location, or maybe have a couple of friends along to serve as their witnesses. As you start to add more guests, you’ll typically want to add more festivities and then you can call it a micro wedding.

Here at Embracing Ceremony we want to offer you the ease of planning a micro wedding and especially from afar, if yours is to be a destination wedding. We have basic elopement packages if you’re on a budget – time or monetary. And if you want to cover a few more bases, we have micro wedding all-inclusive packages. Check out those pages on our website to see what best fits your needs. And if you’d like to customize our offerings, we’re flexible!

Budgeting for Your Ceremony

What does a micro wedding cost? There are so many variables that you can really make it work regardless of your budget. At Embracing Ceremony we offer some fairly comprehensive packages that offer a lot of ambiance for up to 24 guests for $3,200. Our setting is magical and you’ll have a memorable ceremony with music, flowers, champagne and cake. And photography! Our professional wedding photographer will capture the shots you tell her you’re most interested in and you’ll get all the images electronically. She can do all the candids – many during the ceremony – and we have a garden setting with many places for those perfect posed pictures that make memories.

If your plans are to have fewer guests (12 or under) we have a package designed for you. For $2,200 you’ll get the same gorgeous setting with a ceremony your guests will long remember. There’ll be flowers, champagne and photography as well.

Do you need some micro wedding tips? Let’s set a time to chat on the phone or by Zoom so I can answer all your questions. Then you can have the fun of starting to plan a memorable day, knowing that our packages make the planning easy and take care of many of the details for you.
